Biography
Pastor Tommy Hudson
was born in Raymondville, Texas to parents that were
devout Church of Christ members. When Pastor Hudson
was five years old, his father received a personal
revelation of the oneness of God and baptism in
Jesus Name during his daily prayer and study time.
"The
day my father received a personal revelation of
Truth, he began looking for a church that taught
these Biblical doctrines." His search led him to a
small Apostolic church and Pastor Carrie Estridge.
The church was in revival with Evangelist Bill
Wilkerson.” During the following fifteen years, the
Hudson family assisted Brother Wilkerson in starting
several new churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado
and Arkansas.
During his late teen years, Pastor Hudson joined the
United States Air Force and served in Top Secret
Assignments during the Vietnam War. After spending
time stationed at “Murphy Dome in Alaska,” he was
re-assigned to Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New
Mexico. In Roswell, he began attending a small
church pastured by Mack D. Abbott. Under Pastor
Abbott’s ministry, Pastor Hudson received the gift
of the Holy Ghost and began his personal walk with
God. In Roswell, he also met and married Judy
Abbott, Pastor Mack Abbott’s granddaughter. For the
next year, Pastor Hudson served as the Sunday School
Director for the church. As he began to dedicate
his life to the Lord, he felt a call into the
ministry and he and his new wife moved to Houston,
Texas to attend Texas Bible College.
Soon
after the birth of their first child, Jonathan,
Pastor Hudson was called to Santa Paula,
California to assist his father-in-law, Chester
Lewis Abbott, in the church there. Feeling like he
should finish his education, Pastor Hudson attended
Christian Life College in Stockton, California.
While attending college, a little girl, Leveta
Shanell, was added to the family. Along with
attending college, Pastor Hudson assisted Pastor J.
D. Dansby in Riverbank, California. Graduating with
High Honor, Pastor Hudson, with his family began
traveling as a full-time evangelists. In 1971, the
Lord called Evangelist Tommy Hudson to start a home
mission work in Mesa, Arizona. In 1976, the Hudson's
once again added a little girl, Audrey Denise, to
their family. The Story of their time in Mesa can
be found in a book called, "Miracle through the
Fire". It can be purchased from our
bookstore. |
